The Ambages (say: ahm-bay-jeez - it’s a real word, we did not make this up, we swear) have been in the works for many years. The adventure began in 2010, when winemaker Matt set aside a single barrel for extended aging. Through the years, the barrel traveled with Eleven as we moved from our original location to the current site, and was carefully neglected at the back of the cellar, acquiring a unique coterie of protective arachnids. Through focused, deliberate inattention, over time the wine developed remarkable complexity along its circuitous route to the bottle in 2020.
